Sri Lanka will be one among the 75 exhibitor nations participating in the world's largest Information Communication Technology (ICT) exposition, CeBIT 2008. The country and its potential in the field will be showcased with the patronage of Sri Lanka Export Development Board. The exhibition show will be held from 4th March at Hanover,Germany. CeBIT is accepted as the biggest and the world's No. 1 trade show and market place for ICT sector worldwide. The organizers of this year's event expect around 500,000 visitors from all over the world. The exhibitors will have the opportunity of directly connecting with the international market and to interact closely with international ICT buyers and partners while promoting their ICT products and services. The Sri Lankan participant will display their products in the fields of ERP solutions, BPO and KPO services,consultancy support services in ICT, HR solutions and Mobile solutions etc. Sri Lanka has shown a tremendous and a rapid development in the ICT export sector over the past several years.According to Central Bank statistics, exports of ICT sector in 2006 have increased up to US$ 170 million. This growth in the ICT export sector has been reflected in the increase of ICT export companies. There are more than 250 ICT exporting companies operating in the country. Most of these companies are in small and medium scale. The Show will wide open doors for Sri Lanka ICT industry to accrue benefits such as getting exposure to the global ICT market place, familiarize with new technology trends, understand the global ICT market trends and meeting the competitors apart from directly generating business. |
